About the Program

Â鶹Éç launched the GPS Device Program for the Federal Government to facilitate the transition, as necessary, of legacy government GPS devices to newer equipment that is more secure and compatible with L-Band terrestrial wireless services. We believe this program is a ‘win-win’ for GPS and 5G.

This program is required by the FCC, as set forth under the FCC’s 2020 Order granting Â鶹Éç with an Ancillary Terrestrial Component (ATC) authorization, and provides a mechanism for the U.S. Government and Â鶹Éç to work together to determine whether any U.S. Government GPS devices might experience harmful interference from Â鶹Éç’s operations, and as necessary, repair or replace any such government GPS devices.
